Hey guys, bienvenidos a esta leccion de ingles. Soy Jessica Ojeda, tu maestra de ingles “favorita”. This lesson is an important one, and I hope you watch it all the way through. 🙂
You’ll learn how to say ESTE, ESE, and CUAL in singular and plural forms in English.
Let’s get started learning some English!
Ok, I’m in my hotel room and I have one, two, three, four windows. I have four windows.
So, if I ask you, “Would you close one of my blinds?” you might ask me, “Which one?” I could reply, “This one,” or, “That one.” “This one or that one?” “That blind.” or “This blind.”
Me: “Would you close one of my blinds?”
You: “Which one?” “Which blind?”
Me: “This one.” “That one.” “That one by the door.” “The one by the door.”
“This one” and “That one” are singular. It’s just one blind. So it’s singular.
If I ask you, “Would you close two of my blinds?” Now you say, “Which ones?” “Which blinds?”
Me: “Would you close two of my blinds?”
You: “Which ones?” “Which blinds?”
Me: “This one and that one.” “These.” “Those.” “Those on the back wall.” “These by the door.”
OJO: No se dice “these ones” y “those ones”. Para mi se oye mal. Sin embargo, muchos nativos hablan asi.
Let’s look at how to use ONE and THE ONES now.
Merce told me, “Get a round brush, Jesi.” And I was like, “Ok.” And I got a round one. I like the ones with the soft tips. Some of them (in the store) didn’t have soft tips and I didn’t like those. They felt uncomfortable to my forehead, but I like the ones with the soft tips.
That’s how we can use ONE and THE ONES when we talk about things in general.
Please give me your example of THESE, THOSE, and THAT ONE and THIS ONE…just any of these. Any example you can think of with anything I’ve talked about. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that you practice English. And that’s what matters. haha Yep, that’s what matters…that you practice.
