Are You For or Against Bullfighting?

Bullfighting is a very popular “art” in Spain. However, it was just banned in Catalonia, a huge area in north eastern Spain. Some believe that the ban on bullfighting was mostly for political reasons and others believe it was because of animal rights. However, whatever the reason for the ban, many people are very pleased to see it disappear, at least in a region. The ban in Catalonia could be the start of the end of bullfighting.

Are you for or against bullfighting? Some say it’s an art and others say that it’s animal cruelty. What’s your opinion?

For an American -- wolfing down his McDonalds hamburger -- to cry over a bull that suffers for twenty minutes after living a long, happy life is pure hypocrasy, in my opinion.

  19. [..YouTube..] You miss the reason for bullfighting. If the bravebull exist, is because there exist bullfighting. Who is going to pay so they breed remains alive if it doesn’t profit? The bull is product of artificial selection, it cannot be freed in the wild without hurting the native ecosystem, let alone people. And of course, they only have to fight for their lives one day of their lives, while wild animals do so every day. The indult or retaliation are luxurys that no livestock but the bull can hope for.

    Bueno yo estoy 100% en contra de las corridas de toro, debido a que me parece un acto sumamente cruel, matar a otro ser vivo sólo por diversión es un acto muy malo.

  30. [..YouTube..] You have a good point that animal cruelty has always occurred which would lead one to believe that it is part of human nature. It’s interesting that some people don’t think it’s cruel and others do, but both are just as human as the other.

    during all the times has ocurred this, so i think is part of the culture of the people, personaly i don’t like any way, but if they think that it is normal for theirs, it’s ok
