Contracciones Informales en Inglés – Coulda, Wanna, Gonna, Kinda, Lotta, etc.

Las palabras que se usa más para hacer una contracción informal son “have”, “to”, y “of”. Para hacer una contracción se necesita dos o más palabras.

“Have”, “to”, y “of” generalmente son la segunda palabra de la contracción y siempre (en los casos que te enseno) cambian a “a.”

La primera palabra de la contracción no cambia tanto como verás en los ejemplos abajo.

Después de que hayas leído los siguientes ejemplos, pon en práctica lo que has aprendido. Contesta las siguientes preguntas o inventa tus propios ejemplos en la seccion de los comentarios al fondo de esta página:

1. What are you gonna do today?
2. What do you wanna do today?
3. Do you kinda like English?
4. Do you think you oughta study more English?

“TO” to “A”

  • I gotta go. = I (have) got to go.
  • I wanna go. = I want to go.
  • I’m gonna go. = I’m going to go.
  • I needa go. = I need to go.
  • I oughta have gone. = I ought to have gone.
  • I ought notta have gone. = I ought not to have gone.

“HAVE” to “A”

  • I shoulda gone. = I should have gone.I shouldna gone. = I shouldn’t have gone.
  • I coulda gone. = I could have gone.I couldna gone. = I couldn’t have gone.
  • I woulda gone. = I would have gone.I wouldna gone. = I wouldn’t have gone.
  • I mighta gone. = I might have gone.I might notta gone. = I might not have gone.
  • I musta gone. = I must have gone.I must notta gone. = I must not have gone.

“OF” to “A”

  • I kinda understand. = I kind of understand.
  • I sorta understand. = I sort of understand.
  • I got outta the car. = I got out of the car.
  • I have a lotta money. = I have a lot of money.

    2) gimme that. Dame éso.

    ¡ Te pille ! Me estabas mintiendo.

    Let me tell you about “desert” and “dessert”. One is a very dry land that doesn’t receive much water. The other is generally a sweet treat that people often eat after finishing their meal.

    A desert is the dry place.
    Dessert is the delicious treat.

    I can always remember the difference because I always want MORE dessert, and it has one MORE “s” than desert, which I don’t want more of!

    Gracias Jhon por tu comentario y tu pregunta. “Ya” quiere decir “You”. Es una forma informal de decir “you” y de hecho, así se dice hablando.

    Ejemplo: What are ya doing? -- What are you doing? ¿Qué estás haciendo?
